While our core team and headquarters are in Sacramento, California, we welcome remote workers from all over the country.
We've built a strong culture to foster valuable team relationships with both remote and California team members.
We host frequent trips during the year to bring the team together for extended periods of face-to-face time to build deeper relationships. Some examples of trips include our domestic excursions to San Diego, Newport Beach, and Lake Tahoe. Along with international trips to Costa Rica and Belize.

Primary Role
Collaborate with product teams and other engineers to help implement new product features and enhancements for our customers; focusing on the backend and infrastructure layers. Provide leadership and direction to the engineering team. Provides mentorship to junior engineers. Helps inform product creation from an engineering perspective.

Helping us stay ahead of the market trends by working closely with leadership, sales, and product teams to create new features and opportunities. This person helps direct the engineering team towards goals identified by leadership. They ensure the work produced is tested and of the highest quality.
By being more experienced in working on large engineering projects they are able to discern tradeoffs in technology/product and business requirements, and implementation to help collaboratively deliver the best product quickly to our customers.

Responsibilities
Guide engineering team with feature backend development
Be an active member of the engineering team by contributing to meetings and knowledge-sharing sessions
Working to improve the codebase and reduce tech debt
Help inform architecture and software design decisions
Plays an active role in project management
Writing and maintaining quality code and tests
Working new features through collaboration with other engineers
Monitoring the performance of production/test backend systems
Writing documentation and reports

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science related field and 5-8+ years of professional software engineering experience
Mastery knowledge of at least one language such as Javascript, C++, Go, Objective-C, Ruby, Rust. Proficiency in several programming languages
Experience with cloud computing and creating large-scale, performant systems.
Experience working in cross-functional teams
Experience helping design and architect solutions
Mastery knowledge of databases and networked systems
Ability to learn quickly
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
Detail-oriented
Team player. Enables and promotes growth in the team.
