Location

While our core team and headquarters are in Sacramento, California, we welcome remote workers from all over the country.  

We've built a strong culture to foster valuable team relationships with both remote and California team members.

We host frequent trips during the year to bring the team together for extended periods of face-to-face time to build deeper relationships.  Some examples of trips include our domestic excursions to San Diego, Newport Beach, and Lake Tahoe. Along with international trips to Costa Rica, Belize, and the Dominican Republic.

Primary Role

We are looking for a person that can help tell stories with our data.

You will use datasets to help answer questions about various aspects of our business, including customer behavior and trends, financial reporting, engineering and security analytics and operational intelligence.

Greatest Benefit to the Team:

Visualizations, reporting and identifying important data stories will be a central focus for this role. We have the needs for you to simplify complex data models to help us make sense of all areas of Webconnex.

By leveraging BI tools you will create dashboards and notebooks to provide insights to leadership and operation teams to help us prioritize and understand the health and success of our teams.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
  • Work with other data team members to develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Filter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
  • Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities

Requirements

  • Proven working experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc), databases (SQL etc), programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks)
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS, R, etc)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Adept at queries, and able to clearly communicate through report writing and presenting findings
  • Strong math skills (BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics e.g. statistics, algebra)
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
